Matt Dixon embarked on his career journey in 2000 at the highly respected Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA, where he cultivated a strong foundation in precision haircutting. Upon completing his training, he ventured to the Bay Area, participating in apprenticeship programs at Cowboys and Angels in San Francisco, and later at Festoon in Berkeley and San Francisco. Seeking to broaden his skill set beyond precision techniques, Matt pursued classes at Bumble and Bumble in New York to refine his razor-cutting abilities. He furthered his education by enrolling in advanced cut and color courses at Vidal Sassoon. He learned from industry luminaries such as DJ Muldoon, and Clinton Norris, primarily based in San Diego. 

A balance of structure and softness characterizes Matt’s approach to hairdressing.

Over the past two decades, Matt has worked across various salons, from Los Angeles and Ventura County to San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland. Presently, he has established his roots in the North Bay, where he can be found at Ritual Salon on Mondays, Thursdays, and alternate Wednesdays. Beyond his passion for hairstyling, Matt enjoys spending quality time with his family and dogs,as well as playing drums with his band.
